20 years ago, I started at the bottom. After I graduated from college, I moved across the country to a new city with nothing but my wits and my work ethic. Thankfully, my work ethic made up for what I lacked in other areas. Over the last twenty years, I have consistently taken on greater responsibility, managing larger teams in more complex and diversified lines of business. With a career mainly in financial services, I recently served as President and CEO of a business generating nearly $45 million dollars in revenue annually.
There are two consistent threads across my career. First, I have always loved coaching and teaching. In fact, I would often do this outside of my group in a variety of environments. Most recently, I have been faculty at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business’ graduate program in Banking. Second, my communication skills have been a strength and I have become a passionate student of this critical discipline.
However, if you really want to know me, you would have to see me in the real trenches – at HOME! My 5-year old twins keep me almost as busy as my baby girl. I am chief lunch-box prepper and baby rocker in my house. My wife is my hero, having completed her doctorate while pregnant with our little girl Brooke. If you asked the people that know me best to describe me, they would likely say that I try my butt off to be a good man. Leaving a legacy that my kids can be proud of is my loftiest goal. Helping people get the most out of their career and lives seems like an actionable way to do just that.
